This book has one purpose: to give the reader information about auto insurance coverage and auto collision claims. We wrote the book because we felt that our clients should have as much information as possible regarding the claims process before they come to see us. Many of our clients consult with us months or even years after their auto collision. They have had contact with the insurance companies, may have settled their property damage claim, and may have even begun negotiating their personal injury claim. It was apparent that many of our clients were trying to handle their own cases without the proper knowledge and experience.

We decided to give prospective clients information that would help them evaluate whether they have the ability to get a fair settlement from the insurance companies without a lawyer, or whether they need legal help. Although the book covers both property damage claims and personal injury claims, obtaining a fair settlement in a personal injury case is far more difficult. Anyone can allow an insurance company access to their information so it can put a value on a claim, but the best attorneys have the knowledge and experience to get you the best value. Experience and success have given us knowledge of the civil justice system and now we are now offering some of that insight to you in The People’s Guide to California Auto Accident Injury & Property Damage Claims.

What is inside?

The People’s Guide to California Auto Accident Injury& Property Damage Claims provides a summary of the auto insurance coverages that are available to the California consumer. This can be useful in understanding how the coverages in your auto policy apply after you’ve been in a collision, or what coverages to purchase before a collision. The book also summarizes how to evaluate the property damage and bodily injury claims that arise from auto collisions. The law cited in the book is intended to give readers a general understanding of their legal rights after an auto collision and is not a substitute for a consultation with an attorney in a specific case. However, the information should help you either: 1) get a fair settlement from the insurance company without an attorney; or 2) decide that you should seek the knowledge, skill and experience of a good attorney. If the book is useful to you in one of these two ways, we feel the book has served its purpose.
